This traditional pecan pie is full of rich, syrupy pecans in a flaky homemade crust. It’s perfect right out of the oven or topped with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup white corn syrup
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 uncooked pie crust
  • ⅓ gallon vanilla ice cream
Prevent your screen from going dark

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • In a medium size bowl, beat 3 eggs thoroughly; add ¾ cup sugar, ¾ cup white corn syrup and ⅛ teaspoon salt; mix well.
  • Chop ¼ cup butter into pieces. Add butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract to other ingredients; stir until thoroughly blended.
  • Place 1 cup pecans on bottom of 1 uncooked pie crust.
  • Pour egg mixture over nuts.
  • Bake for 10 minutes.
  • Reduce heat to 300°F and cook for 35 minutes.
  • Serve with ⅓ gallon vanilla ice cream.
