โฒ๏ธ Time needed

You'll need 5-10 minutes to zest and juice the lemons (see our tip below about freezing fresh lemon juice and zest to save time and avoid waste). The pasta can cook while you're preparing the sauce, so you can have this dish ready in under 25 minutes.

๐Ÿฅ˜ Ingredients

  • linguini
  • butter
  • oil
  • fresh garlic
  • zest and juice from 2 lemons
  • alt and pepper
  • Parmesan cheese

๐Ÿ“‹ Instructions

Cook the pasta according to package directions. If it's done before the sauce, drain and keep warm.

Melt the butter with the oil over medium heat, then add the minced garlic cloves and lightly sautรฉ (never let sautรฉed garlic get too brownโ€”less is more with garlic).

Add the zest and lemon juice, stir well, and heat just enough to warm it. Season to taste with salt and pepper, and toss the sauce with the pasta. Serve garnished with shredded Parmesan cheese.

๐Ÿ’ญ Tips

Did you know that you can freeze fresh lemon and lime zest and juice? No more shriveled up lemonsย  or limes in the crisper when you optimistically buy a whole bag and don't end up using them. Garden Betty has the scoop. I'm big on freezing ingredients, and this is just one more way to save time & money and eliminate waste.

You may not want to do a whole bag, but buy an extra two or three lemons and freeze the zest and juice. You'll thank me the next time a recipe calls for lemon zest and you can pull it out of the freezer.

๐Ÿฅ— Side dishes

I would recommend a simple green vegetable with this pasta dishโ€”steamed broccoli, sautรฉed sugar snap peas, or seasoned green beans.
