Swedish Meatballs

This quick and easy stovetop meal uses few ingredients and goes from prep to table in 20 minutes. You can buy frozen meatballs from the grocery store, or if you prefer to make your own, we have a bulk meatball recipe that is perfect for cooking ahead.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 1 pound frozen cooked meatballs
  • oil for sautรฉing if necessary
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • ยฝ teaspoon salt
  • dash cayenne pepper
  • ยฝ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup light sour cream, room temperature

Instructions

  • Thaw 1 pound frozen cooked meatballs.
  • Cook 8 ounces egg noodles according to package directions.
  • Brown meatballs in a skillet using a oil for sautรฉing if necessary
  • Combine 2 tablespoon butter, 2 tablespoon flour, 1 cup beef broth, ยฝ teaspoon salt, dash cayenne pepper, ยฝ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, and 1 cup light sour cream.
  • Gently mix sour cream sauce into meatballs and heat thoroughly.
  • Serve meatballs on cooked noodles.

    This works well for meal-prep. We make the sauce and divide it between lunch containers then add cooked noodles, vegetable, and still-frozen meatballs. Quick and easy.
