Ingredients

1poundground beef
3onions, for chili
4tablespoonsmustard
3teaspoonssugar
2teaspoonschili powder
1cupketchup
salt, to taste
¼cupwater, as needed

12hot dog buns
1⅔cupshredded cheddar cheese
1largeonion, for topping
Instructions
Hot Dog Chili
Finely dice 3 onions.
Brown 1 pound ground beef, breaking into small pieces while cooking. Adding about ¼ cup water while cooking will help it to break up.
Drain meat.
Place cooked meat into a medium saucepan and diced onions, 4 tablespoons mustard, 3 teaspoons sugar, 2 teaspoons chili powder, 1 cup ketchup, and salt to taste. Stir until mixture is consistent. Simmer over low heat for 1 hour.
If you need to thin the sauce you may use small amounts of water as the mixture cooks.
Hot Dogs
Chop 1 large onion.
Grill or boil 12 hot dogs according to your preference until cooked through.
Serve in 12 hot dog buns with chili, 1⅔ cup shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onions, and other toppings as desired.
